What marathon in October?

From I Just Run on Thu, Sep 12, 2013 at 16:28:48 from 67.79.11.242

I have run OKC twice. the first time coming off of an injury with no running for about 3 weeks before and the second one 2 months after the Ft Worth Cowtown marathon. (That was a bad decision as I hadn't completely recovered.)

I liked OKC but the weather conditions are really sketchy that time of year. The first year was very cold, rain, lighting, very windy. The second year was too hot and humid.

It's a good one to put on your bucket list since it's close to you.

It's a fairly flat course with only a few rolling hills. The turnout and support is good.

I would not target it as a BQ race because of the sketchy weather conditions, I would use it as an experience builder though.

Since it falls late in the spring it works out where you can run a fall marathon and then it in the spring, that's something I'm trying to do (run 2 marathons per year).

Good luck on your BQ goal! I struggled with some bad breaks and decisions before I hit mine. :-)

BTW...What's your qualifying time?
